Through the Open Library, Telkom University is organizing the 2022 Literacy Event again. Entitled Thrive of Literacy in The Digital Ecosystem Era, this activity aims to provide new understanding and insight into the digital ecosystem in developing literacy. It was stated by the Head of SDK & Library Division, Rika Yuliant, M.Ikom.
“This is an active Tel-U movement in the international literacy movement; campaigning for the importance of literacy to the public; inviting all entities to play an active role in literacy; establishing cooperation with literacy organizations and communities, and one of the manifestations of Tel-U as the initiator of literacy festivals in universities,” said Rika.
Tel-U Rector Prof. Adiwijaya was also present and inaugurated the 2022 Opening Literacy Event. In his speech, he revealed that literacy is one step toward educating the nation’s life.
“To get there (to educate the nation’s generation) is certainly not easy. We must prepare facilities and infrastructure such as an open digital library like the Open Library. We also need to strengthen our learning system. Literacy is the first step, which leads to our behavior until finally being able to contribute to society,” said Adiwijaya.
This activity lasts four days, starting from 11 โ 14 October 2022 at the Auditorium Gd. Damar Tel-U. The series of activities in which there are Seminars & Talkshows, including Elevate Your Research into World-Class Publication by Tel-U Professor of A.I., Prof. Dr. Suyanto, and Customer Consultant for Elsevier South East Asia, Johan Jang.
Then the discussion on Digital Safety Literacy: Secure Your Data by the Director of Information Empowerment of the Ministry of Communication and Information, Bonifasius Wahyu Pudjianto, Ph.D.; and Co-Founder CyberArmyID, Muhammad Shifa Zulfikar, S.Kom.

In the digital era, writing skills are also an important point. It will be discussed at the UX Writer seminar: Writing Skills in the Digital Age by the Head of Tel-U’s P.R. & Marketing Communication Expertise Group, Dr. Martha Tria Lestari, and Lummo’s UX Writer, Reza Mardian.
The SDG’s achievement program campaign as well as the development of human and technological literacy through sharing sessions at the “Sustainable Business: Safe Environment for Road Business” with the Founder & Executive Director of PT Tukang Bersih Indonesia, Ranti Sabina, S.Sn., M.M., and Tel-U Lecturers, Robbi Hendriyanto S.T., M.T.
There is also a Workshop on LaTex for Researcher by Dr. Koredianto Usman., S.T., M.Sc.; and the Let’s Talk! Workshop: Exploring Potential to Be Creative by a Tel-U Content Creator & Alumni, Riogarlio.
Finally, an exciting performance summarized in Literacy Gigs presents Soegi Bornean in exploring the creative process of making lyrics, choosing musical arrangements, and the concept of performance.
The Literacy Event is an annual event regularly held by the Tel-U Open Library, until 2022, there have been 9 Literacy Events. As stated above, this is one of Tel-U’s steps as the initiator of literacy festivals in Indonesia.
