Tel-U with CISCO Help Countermeasure for COVID-19

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University (Tel-U) in collaboration with CISCO Indonesia contributed to the West Java government to overcome COVID-19 in West Java, this assistance was handed over directly to the West Java government witnessed by West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil, in the Pakuan Building, Tuesday (2/6).

Assistance in the form of information technology devices worth 36 billion Rupiah will later be utilized in West Java for overcoming COVID-19. Telkom University Chancellor Prof. Adiwijaya explained that the role of Telkom University here was to provide training and use of the equipment.

“The equipment given to the government comes from CISCO, but in its implementation, Tel-U will provide training so that the tool can be implemented properly.” He explained.

Prof. Adiwijaya added that the contribution is given here as contribution and collaboration from academics, government, and business people to jointly overcome the COVID-19 pandemic.

“Tel-U and CISCO are eager to provide the best contribution. Later, it does not only benefit West Java but also for this prosperity and Health of our nation.” He explained.

CISCO Indonesia Managing Director Marina Kacaribu explained that the collaboration between CISCO and Telkom University is a Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program which is part of the Global Cisco Country Digital Acceleration (CDA) program.

“Through this program, Indonesia is the first country in Southeast Asia to participate in this program, through CDA we are fighting COVID-19 which focuses on Digital Government, Digital Industry, Digital SOEs, Cyber ??Security, and Equalization of Digital Technology Role.” She said

Marina Kacaribu said that the technology that CISCO provided was able to assist the West Java government in combating COVID-19 as an application to test and track the spread of COVID-19.

“CISCO is honored to be able to work with Telkom University to support the West Java government in overcoming COVID-19 because we believe technology can be very useful especially in the current pandemic, hopefully, this platform can truly help the government of West Java and in the future be able to benefit for the Indonesian people. ” She explained.

In his remarks, the Governor of West Java Ridwan Kamil welcomed the support that has been given by Telkom University and CISCO Indonesia, for him this is a form of state defense that has been carried out by academics and industry players.

“We know that the vanguard at the moment in defending the country is the medical staff, and in the second row is the role that we do in assisting both in mind, innovation and energy to cope with this pandemic, thanks to Telkom University and CISCO who have assisted the government in overcoming COVID-19.” He said.
