Tel-U x Unilever x Smash.id Launch The Waste Free, implementing Green Campus through Plastic Waste Management

BANDUNG, Telkom University – The collaboration carried out through the Community Service program by these three institutions aims to improve the performance and quality of plastic waste management in Bandung City through digitizing existing waste banks.

This community service activity was launched by organizing a webinar entitled “Kampus Merdeka – Merdeka Dari Sampah” on August 13, 2020, which was greeted enthusiastically by 154 participants from various backgrounds (Civitas Akademika Tel-U, Bandung City Garbage Bank, and other 45 participants from all over the world.

The webinar entitled “Freedom from Waste, implementing a Green Campus through Plastic Waste Management. A Joint Industry & University Commitment” aims to invite the younger generation, industry, and universities to take part in managing plastic waste as well as educating the public to always consider the environmental impact of plastic waste and innovating in overcoming the management of plastic waste in the environment.

In this webinar, participants received sharing sessions from various expert speakers in their fields, namely:

– Dr. Ir. Rina Djunita Pasaribu, M.Sc. (Vice Rector II for Resources at Telkom University)

-Dr. Novrizal Tahar, S.T., M.Si (Director of Waste Management, Dirjen PSLB3 KLHK) represented by Putra Fajar Alam, S.S.I., M.T. (CEO and Founder of Smash.id)

– Maya Tamimi (Head of Sustainable Environment, Unilever Indonesia Foundation)

and guided by moderator Dr. Ir. Ratna Lindawati Lubis, M.M. (Lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Telkom).

Putra Fajar Alam, S.S.I., M.T. as CEO and Founder of Smash.id said, “It is hoped that in the future, it can increase collaboration between Tel-U, Unilever and Smash.id to educate the Indonesian people and the participation of Penta-helix to care for the environment through plastic waste management in the digitalization era to support the Indonesian government’s program in realizing Indonesia Clean from Waste 2025 โ€.
