BANDUNG, Telkom University – Closing 2022, Telkom University (Tel-U) continues to make achievements, these various achievements are Tel-U commitment to provide better quality education for the advancement of education in Indonesia.
Throughout 2022, Telkom University as the number 1 Private Higher Education (PTS) in Indonesia has won various achievements and achievements to be proud of, both National and International.
At the beginning of the year, Telkom University won the best collaboration data management award in the category of Private Higher Education in the 2021 Research and Technology Dikti Award and in December won 3 awards in the 2022 Research and Technology Higher Education Award, namely Gold winner for the best Work Report, Gold winner for collaboration with industry the best and Silver winner for the best international cooperation.
In February, Telkom University succeeded in making achievements at the international level, namely in the Webometrics ranking and the Times Higher Education (THE) Young University Rankings.
In terms of open access to information, Telkom University has won 1st place in PTS in Indonesia, 7th in Indonesia, and 1408th in the world in the Webometrics 2022 version (www.webometrics.info), for access openness, number of researchers or lecturers, and number of publications which quotes information from the university’s website and is updated every six months.
As for THE Young University Rankings, Tel-U is ranked 1st PTS in Indonesia and ranked 2nd nationally as the world’s best tertiary institution as reported on the www.timeshighereducation.com page. THE Young University is a ranking for universities aged 50 years or less.
In March, Telkom University succeeded in establishing a partnership with the Telecom Infra Project (TIP) Academy which focuses on strategic collaboration to build digital talent in Indonesia and the Southeast Asia region to produce digital talent for the advancement of the Indonesian people and the world.
In June, Telkom University was ranked 401-500 in Asia, ranked 9th nationally, and ranked first PTS in Indonesia in the 2022 Times Higher Education (THE) Asia University Rankings (AUR) and became the best private campus according to Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) ) World University Ranking (WUR) for 2023 with a total score of 9.25.
Having the vision to become a Research and Entrepreneurial University, Tel-U continues to produce research and innovation and is involved in efforts to boost the nation’s economy through MSMEs, by providing training, mentoring, and handing over a variety of innovative products so that they can be widely utilized by the public.
One of the innovations that have been utilized by the industry in Indonesia is the product of an intelligent lighting system innovation to build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based green ecosystem that was developed by Telkom University together with PT. Bio Farma in July 2022.
As an ICT-based campus, Telkom University has established a partnership program with Microsoft to realize the digital campus concept in October 2022. This support provided by Microsoft is a strategic step to accelerate Telkom University as a digital campus. Apart from exploring the use of Microsoft technology in the Center of Learning Open Education (CeLOE) platform, and improving the quality of the hybrid learning experience, the collaboration will also be carried out through optimizing Microsoft Office 365 in teaching and learning activities and operational activities, as well as optimizing the Microsoft Azure platform to run and modernize MyTelU mobile app.
In addition, October is also a historic moment for Telkom University because it has been trusted to be the center for the development of the metaverse, to support the government in carrying out digital transformation programs in Indonesia.
At the end of the year, Telkom University also continues to make achievements. Telkom University won the 2022 APICTA (Asia Pacific ICT Alliance) Awards in Pakistan for its two best innovations, namely the Digital Stethoscope and Amons. The APICTA award is an international award that aims to increase ICT awareness in society and help bridge the digital divide. This program is designed to stimulate ICT innovation and creativity, enhance economic and trade relations, facilitate technology transfer and offer suitable business opportunities through exposure to venture capitalists and investors.
A series of activities carried out by Telkom University academics is a form of Tel-U’s support to achieve the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that world leaders want to achieve in 2030.
These 17 programs have been carried out by Telkom University through a series of activities ranging from community service, training, research results, and innovations.
Tel-U’s support for creating a sustainable life has been recognized through the UI GreenMetric (UIGM) 2022 ranking, Tel-U won an award as the 9th best sustainable tertiary institution in Indonesia, ranked 77th in the world, and became PTS no.1 in Indonesia.
According to the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, based on Telkom University’s vision of becoming a research and entrepreneurial university, Telkom University researchers are asked not only to be able to produce quality research, but that research must lead to innovations that can provide benefits to society.
