Telkom University and MDI Ventures Collaborate to Develop Digital Ecosystem

Telkom University has officially announced its collaboration with PT Metra Digital Investama (MDI Ventures) through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two institutions by the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya and the President Director of MDI Ventures, Donald Wiraharja, on Monday, March 6, 2023, at Telkom University Convention Hall.

The MoU signing was conducted during the event called ‘SEO/BUMN Goes to Campus’, and it was witnessed by the Special Staff III of the Ministry of SOEs, Arya Mahendra Sinulingga, Vice President for Business Development of MDI Ventures, Alvin Evander, Senior Head Synergy of MDI Ventures, Muchamad Gilang, President Director of Executive Division of Telkom Education Foundation, Dodi Irawan, and board of vice rectors of Telkom University.

The agreements include the development of a digital ecosystem that supports knowledge transfer between universities and industries through the synergy of entrepreneurial development, commercializing products of innovation, and support of the development of human resources through the administration of education. The agreement with MDI Ventures is hopefully able to increase the number of startups in Bandung Techno Park (BTP) as a business incubator in Telkom University area.

MDI Ventures is a capital venture part of Telkom Group which invest in startup companies that gives the positive synergy value for Indonesia. MDI Ventures is also active in developing the digital ecosystem through the establishment of incubators and accelerators in Indonesia. CEO of MDI Ventures, Donald Widjaya, hopes that the collaboration between Tel-U and MDI Ventures creates more startups from the innovation of Tel-U’s students.

“We hope that this collaboration between Tel-U and Bandung Techno Park will find new generation startups and innovations from Tel-U’s students. MDI will facilitate the new incubated startups to bigger leagues,” Donald said.

Furthermore, the rector of Telkom University also expects that the collaboration will increase the Telkom University students’ capacity and lecturers’ research.

“The future is built by us, and it is hoped that all TelUtizen will become the future leaders. And hopefully, this collaboration will help prepare TelUtizen to become a useful generation for this country,” Adiwijaya hoped.
