BANDUNG, Telkom University โ Telkom University (Tel-U), and Microsoft Indonesia have collaborated to encourage the acceleration of Tel-U as a digital campus. The collaboration is contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Chancellor of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, and President Director of Microsoft Indonesia Dharma Simorangkir, at the Bangkit Telkom University Building, Thursday (6/10).
The use of Microsoft technology on the Tel-U Center of Learning Open Education (CeLOE) platform to improve the quality of the hybrid learning experience. The collaboration is also carried out through the optimization of Microsoft Office 365 in teaching and learning activities and operational activities, as well as the optimization of the Microsoft Azure platform to run and modernize the MyTelU mobile app.
Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya said Telkom University aims to continue contributing to the nation through digital talents. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that Tel-U will further strengthen the dream of the Indonesian government. “We hope that this collaboration will not only provide benefits for each institution, but more broadly, it can benefit the people and nation of Indonesia.”
Integrating data management is essential in accelerating Tel-U’s transformation as a digital campus. Therefore, one of the other areas of collaboration that is put forward through this memorandum of understanding is the development of the Tel-U One Data concept. The meaning of Tel-U Satu Data is how Tel-U can build a consistent virtual data repository to make data-driven decisions more efficiently and visualize data more quickly using Microsoft technology.
“Education modernization is one of the fundamental elements we need to accelerate together in supporting Indonesia’s acceleration towards a Digital Indonesia. We can see modernization here from various aspects. We were starting from a hybrid system of teaching and learning activities, innovative ways of working and learning such as through application creation, administrative processes with technology support, to data-based operational activities. We are honored to be working with Tel-U to accelerate the acceleration of Tel-U as a digital campus. Through a digital campus, we will be able to harmonize the development of the world of education with industry. Not only that, but we will also be able to produce graduates with capable digital capabilities and skills, who are ready to work according to the standards of world-class technology companies,” said Dharma Simorangkir, President Director of Microsoft Indonesia.
In this acceleration, it is also essential to prepare human resources capable of optimizing the use of technology. Therefore, Tel-U and Microsoft have formulated a unique collaboration in digital talent empowerment. Microsoft will provide various digital training programs for Tel-U employees in this area, while Tel-U will support the inclusion of Microsoft international certifications in relevant courses. It is hoped that the collaboration will have a role in preparing human resources following the needs of the labor market and industry. (***)
