BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University (Tel-U) with Toba Regency, North Sumatra, collaborated to jointly improve the Tri Dharma of higher education, namely Education, Research, and Community Service.

The cooperation is contained in a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, and represented by the Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation, Dr. Rina Puji Astuti, together with the Regent of Toba Poltak Sitorus.

In the agreement, both parties agreed to develop the Tri Dharma of higher education, collaborate in research, organize scientific activities, develop human resource competencies, Merdeka Belajar Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) program, and organize the Kedaireka program.

Poltak Sitorus, in his speech, said that Toba Regency was very interested in collaborating with Telkom University. He was happy because what Toba Regency needed was at Telkom University.

“We feel that the collaboration between the Toba Regency government and Tel-U is very appropriate. We hope this collaboration can be wider because what we need there is on this campus.”

Furthermore, Poltak Sitorus expressed his interest in being able to collaborate with one of the study programs at Tel-U. “We are interested in the Product Design study program owned by Tel-U because we have a variety of superior agricultural products, one of which is coffee. We also need solutions and input from Tel-U regarding producing a product design that can be marketed more broadly.”

Dr. Rina, in her speech, was happy to be able to welcome the Toba Regency Regent’s group at Telkom University. According to her, this cooperation could be increased and reduced to a deeper cooperation agreement.

“Thanks to the Regent of Toba Regency, who is willing to cooperate with Tel-U, hopefully, the results of this collaboration can provide benefits both for the academic community, the Toba Regency community, and more broadly for Indonesia,” he said.
