BANDUNG, Telkom University โ Telkom University, through the PKM KC team (Student Creativity Program for the Copyright Karsa section) from the Faculty of Informatics, has successfully created the PANDAS (Autism and Speech Delay Prevention) application. This application is intended to assist in diagnosing autism and speech delay early.
Dr. Gamma Kosala, a lecturer at the Faculty of Informatics, explained that PANDAS has main features, namely an independent assessment feature, a chat feature for consultation, a translation feature from Indonesian to Sign Language and vice versa, and a patient history access feature.
“In the self-assessment feature, the assessment used is the second DDST-II or Denver assessment, and M-CHAT R. The DDST-II assessment is intended to identify speech delay while M-CHAT R is to identify autism.” Obviously.
PANDAS has team members consisting of students, namely Nabila Janatri Iswibowo from the Data Science S1 Study Program, Yunia Amelia Chairunisa from the Data Science S1 Study Program, Muhammad Naufal Hawari from the Informatics S1 Study Program, and Agung Hadi Winoto from the Data Science S1 Study Program.
Gamma further explained that this assessment had been validated by a lecturer in Special Education at the Islamic Nusantara University, namely Dr. Yoga Budhi Santoso and practitioner Ahmad Ali Nugroho as speech therapists at Jalan Cikutra No. 187, Bandung.
Gamma added that this application also features a direct chat with a doctor. Users can access this feature to consult a doctor when a diagnosis of autism or speech delay in the child shows high-risk results or when parents want to consult their child’s assessment history.
“Parents can consult a doctor on this feature until the child gets further action. This doctor chat feature is equipped with instant messages. In addition, there is a sign language translation feature with a smartphone camera input.” Obviously.
This feature can also be used as a support if the child’s assessment indicates autism. “Children and parents will be able to learn sign language so that communication can be established from an early age, and the accuracy rate of this translation also reaches 95%.”
Currently, the PANDAS application is still in apk form, “we are still developing this application, and in the future, it will be uploaded on the play store.”
