Telkom University Efficient Innovation to Help Village Communities

WEST BANDUNG, Telkom University โ€“ As a university that commits to continue contributing to the nation, Telkom University continues to produce innovations that benefit the wider community, especially.

“Research at Telkom University does not only focus on publications but also has to lead to innovation. The innovations produced by Tel-U researchers must benefit the wider community.” This expression is a message from the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, for Telkom University researchers.

The message conveyed by the Chancellor of Telkom University is an encouragement for Tel-U researchers and innovators to continue to provide innovative results that benefit the community through the Tri Dharma of higher education, namely Education, Research, and Community Service.

Lecturer of the School of Industrial Engineering (FRI) Telkom University, Dr. Rosad Ma’ali El Hadi, has played a role in the community as a Village Technology Service Post Supervisor (Posyantekdes) Ikhlas Ramaku (Innovative, Creative, Hygienic, Lively Beautiful, Healthy Rajamandala Kulonyang) located in Ciburahol village, Rajamandala Kulon village, Cipatat District, West Bandung Regency.

Rosad explained that Posyantekdes had produced various innovative products or technologies, including paving block machines, paper recycling, potato peeling machines, and appropriate technology in agriculture, animal husbandry, and food processing products.

“We can help the community produce processed agricultural products efficiently, especially in processing potato skins. This tool can peel as many as 3 Kilograms of potatoes in 55 seconds, and it also innovates to make a multi-shaped potato slicing machine with Stainless Steel material. 304 food grade can cut one potato to produce seven cut shapes in 3 seconds per grain.” Obviously.

In the competition organized by the West Java Province Village Community Empowerment Service, Rosad said that the resulting tool had been proven in front of the jury when Posyantekdes participated in the appropriate technology competition for the Excellent category and the Posyantekdes had achievements.

“Currently, these works have obtained intellectual property rights from the Ministry of Law and Human Rights of the Republic of Indonesia, and it is planned that in 2023 Posyantekdes will build an entrepreneur or entrepreneurship laboratory and develop digital villages to awaken Small and Medium Industries. As an innovator or lecturer, I have the principle to continuously innovate to produce solutions for the community.”
