Telkom University Introduces the Indonesian Language To Foreign Students
BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University through the International Office, seeks to introduce the Indonesian language to International Students who are studying in Indonesia by organizing the Indonesia Culture Summer Camp (ICSC) 2019.
The event which took place from 26-28 September 2019 was participated by International Students from 30 countries around the world. Carrying the theme “Understand Indonesia” this event aims to transmit the “virus” of Indonesia to the world, as well as a forum for students and international students who want to learn the Indonesian Language and Culture.
Vice-Rector III for Telkom University Admission and International Office Dr. Dida Diah Damajanti said that the diversity of cultures were new colors that could be felt and studied together.
“Through this event, the melting pot of cultures is a beautiful thing, we can both learn culture from other countries because diversity must be celebrated and enjoyed not contested or debated.” She said.
Through ICSC Dida hopes that for the next 3 days the participants will be able to understand Indonesian culture and language, as well as to understand the culture of West Java.
“Speaking Indonesian will be very beneficial for you all, because Malay, including Indonesia, is the 3rd most spoken language in the world, especially in Southeast Asia, therefore I hope you can be inspired, enjoy exploring and Bandung. I believe that you will become ambassadors who are enthusiastic to spread Indonesian and culture when you return to your countries. “She concluded.
In addition to understanding the language and culture in Indonesia on the last day of the event the participants will also be presented with a Cooking Day that serves cuisine from various countries.
