Jakarta – Telkom University received a prestigious award from the Ministry of Research and Technology (Kemenristek) & the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN) at the Indonesian Innovation Award which took place at BJ Habibie Building, Jakarta on Tuesday (10/11).
The event was held to coincide with Heroes’ Day, as a form of appreciation for the country โheroes of innovationโ. The award ceremony is a series of the Indonesia EXPO Innovation event which started from November 10-13.
The award that was successfully achieved by Telkom University is the Innovative Higher Education Award in the Innovation Management Category. Tel-U managed to rank second after competing with the University of Indonesia and the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology.
Some innovations produced by Telkom University have been used well, not only in the Tel-U environment but also in collaboration with other agencies/companies. So it can be said that Tel-U’s innovation is ripe and ready to be implemented.
Among them are MCRBS (Mobile Cognitive Radio Base Station) which is a solution for digital learning in areas that are not covered by operator signals and areas that are affected by disasters so that network constraints with TIP Central partners, GSMA, Ministry of Education and Culture, Telkomsel, and other operators.
AUMR (Autonomous UVC Mobile Robot) with partners Narutindo and LIPI. AUMR is a robot for disinfection and sterilization of the Covid-19 Positive Patient Isolation room without direct human intervention so that it can minimize the transmission of Covid-19, especially for medical officers who are at the forefront of the fight against Covid-19.
Air Quality Monitoring System with partners Kanazawa University and the Ministry of Education and Culture is a tool to monitor air quality. Given that Tel-U stands close to an industrial area, it is important to ensure that campus air is good and healthy.
Smart Card with PT Consortium partners (UI, ITB, Unhas, Tel-U), PT. CORE. Use in the Tel-U environment is applied to the Tel-U Integrated Information System, namely iGracias.
iGracias is an Integrated Academic Information System, which was developed by Tel-U. And it has been used as an integrated Tel-U information system with users of lecturers, academic support staff, and students.
Finally, there is LoraID (Long Range RFID) with partners PT. GII and Telkom. This device allows tapping of ID Cards remotely so that the ID card no longer needs to be attached to the Reader but remotely.
“It is huge gratitude as well as a mandate that must be fulfilled by all Telkom University academics. Hopefully, there will be more innovative products from Telkom University that will benefit the people and Indonesia,” said Adiwijaya.

At this Expo, visitors can also directly buy innovative products on display. So that it can boost the economy during this pandemic.
