The change in the industrial era is now getting bigger, now the world has entered the era of industry 4.0 where today humans have been greatly facilitated by the existence of technology and digitalization as the main driving factors in people’s lives that make boundaries invisible.
In line with the development of technology now the big question arise, what about the natural resources provided by our Earth our “Home” then? As can be understood through scientific or religious methods that the earth has its resource capacity.
It’s no secret that economic growth and energy have sacrificed environmental quality. In response to this challenge, experts in various countries are looking for ways to slow or prevent pollution, preserve natural resources and protect the remaining environment.
Looking at the problem the university as an agent of change, especially related to efforts to increase environmental awareness and how to apply the concept of sustainability in the governance of the University area is an unavoidable problem.
In order to create development towards a green campus concept that is environmentally friendly in universities, University of Indonesia and Telkom University organized a “UI Green Metric Workshop: Sustainability Officer” which was held on March 13-14 2019.
Carrying the theme “Raising the Participation of Higher Education in Nurturing The Environment Through Sustainability Office” this event aimed to raise awareness about the need for ‘sustainability office / officer’ in universities, provide training in skills and knowledge to the ‘sustainability officer’ and support universities to become sustainable campus.
This activity was held in two places, where for the opening was held at Sebatik Building Telkom University, and the second day was held at Padjajaran University Campus, Jatinangor.
