Citeureup towards Food Self-Reliance, IoT-Based Economy and Energy

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University as the No.1 Best Private University in Indonesia contributes to the community, one of which is the implementation of the Community Service program organized by the Instrumentation and Energy Engineering Expertise Group, Telkom University Physics Engineering S1 Study Program in Citeureup Village.

The event was held on Saturday (03/04) with a Community Service Engagement (CSE) scheme with the theme ‘Academics of Engineering Physics with the Citeureup Village Community for Food Self-reliance, Economy and Energy Based on the Internet of Things (IoT)’. This activity was attended by lecturers and students who were previously involved in the Holistic Village Development and Empowerment Program (PHP2D) Innovillage in 2020 and collaborated with 15 Youth Organizations and 15 women from PKK RW 06 Citeureup Village, Dayeuhkolot District, Bandung Regency.

Dr. eng. Amaliyah, R.I.U.S.T., M.Si. as the person in charge of this activity explained that this activity is a form of Telkom University’s concern for the surrounding community, especially RW 06 Citeureup Village. This activity is divided into 6 teams that produce innovations including Solar Panels and IoT, Clean Water Technology, Hygiene and Health Technology (Environmentally Friendly Soap), Freshwater Fish Cultivation Technology, Waste Treatment Technology, and Hydro/Aquaponics Technology.

“Based on the roadmap that we made, the plan is that the development of this innovation will be carried out in approximately three years and this is the first year. For the next year, Insha Allah, it will be more about how the products produced from this community service will be marketed,” said Amaliyah.

Amaliyah also said that in the future, this program will continue to be monitored until the goal of this community service is achieved, namely the creation of an independent community. This activity is expected to improve the welfare of the community around the institution

“Through this activity, Insha Allah, it will open up opportunities for lecturers to collaborate both internally and externally. In addition, for students who are involved in community service activities, students are expected to be able to apply the knowledge they have gained in college by engaging directly in the community.”
