To improve the welfare of MSMEs in Bandung Regency, lecturers from Bachelor of Communication Science and Bachelor of Accounting have made a collaboration to develop applications for basic financial management learning media that are accessible to MSMEs.
Dudi Rustandi M.Ikom, a lecturer of the Communication Science (IKOM) Study Program, disclosed that the average MSMEs actors do not divide their capital, assets, and family or personal funds; they are all combined. The most important thing for them is that their business is profitable, and their family has food to eat. If they can recoup their capital, they consider themselves profitable. This is what has prevented the development of MSMEs to date.
โBased on the field observation results, the average of MSMEs in Bandung Regency, especially those taking part as the community service (Abdimas) partners do not divide their capital, assets, and family or personal funds; they combine them all. The most important thing for them is that their business is profitable, and their family has food to eat. If they can recoup their capital, they consider themselves profitable.
This is what has prevented the development of MSMEs to date based on several analyses from experts. That is why the outcomes of field observations serve as the foundation for our training.” Duddy stated.
This time, the application development and training are made for Kolaku. Dudi explained that Kolaku was chosen because it is one of the sustainable microenterprises that has networks and coaches other MSMEs. This means that Kolaku can get its MSMEs network to take part in this activity.
“First of all, Kolaku is a sustainable microenterprise. Second, it has networks and coaches other MSMEs, this means that Kolaku can get its MSMEs networks to take part in this activity. Third, Kolaku knows the problems that small and medium-sized businesses in Bandung Regency are facing in general”. Duddy said
Telkom University (Tel-U) serves as the site for the creation of financial learning media content, whereas the Kutawaringin sub district serves as the training site for Kolaku. Dudi believes that this application-based learning media content will assist MSMEs in increasing their productivity.
“In the future, if it is truly functional and becomes a requirement, it will be implemented based on the requirements. With this application-based learning media content, it is expected that MSMEs will be able to increase their productivity. Because fifty percent of a business is devoted to finances,” Duddy said.
