The PR Practitioners’ Talk events continued in the #3 series. The event provides a learning method that combines theory with practical examples and is explained directly by PR practitioners. This activity will take place on May 24, 2022, online.
Martha Tri Lestari and Hadi Purnama, as part of the Digital Public Relations Teaching Team 2, invited the Public Relations Practitioner of the Communication and Information Office (Diskominfo), Yunita Virdianti, who is the Head of Information Dissemination and Public Communication of the Tangerang City Government. In this third series, Yunita shares insights about Digital Public Information Services.
In Government Public Relations, Public Information Services is one of the duties and responsibilities of Diskominfo. Government Public Relations is expected to be able to fulfill the public’s right to know and accommodate public aspirations to enhance the institution’s positive image.
Entering the era of Society 5.0, it is a challenge for public relations to continue to carry out their functions and duties. Public relations is required to be able to adapt and innovate.
According to Yunita, “there is no other choice for us to be responsive to technology. We must be ready to join the world of digitalization.”
“It is also done to maximize two-way communication lines and always be in touch or engagement with followers. So don’t be anti-answering questions, don’t be anti-criticism. It is also one of our commitments,” said Yunita.
By holding this activity, it is hoped that it will provide an overview, a forum for sharing experiences and knowledge which will become a new knowledge that is useful in carrying out their duties as PR practitioners in the future.
