FGD with Telkom University Alumni from 3 Continents

BANDUNG, Telkom University – The Directorate of Career, Alumni & Endowment (CAE) Telkom University (Tel-U) organized a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Telkom University alumni. After organizing a similar FGD activity with alumni of the Asian chapter, Tel-U now held an FGD with alumni from America, Europe, and Australia.

The European alumni came from several countries, including the Netherlands, Germany, Czech Republic, France, and England.

Entitled “International Employability” this event held online via Zoom, on Wednesday (30/6). Telkom University is eager to improve employability and continue to establish good relations with alumni.

“Currently Tel-U has received recognition from the Ministry of the Republic of Indonesia for the absorption of its graduates, and received five stars from QS Stars for the Employability category, therefore through this event we want to continue to improve the quality of Telkom University graduates.” Said the Director of CAE, AT Hanuranto in his speech.

Vice-Rector for Admissions, Student Affairs, and Alumni Telkom University, Dr. Dida Diah Damajanti expressed her gratitude to the alumni who currently attend this event.

“Even though we are currently in different time zones, there may be some early in the morning, but that does not dampen his enthusiasm to continue to provide input to us and our younger students in preparing for their future.”

Dida said that Telkom University is currently focusing on increasing Global Employability, therefore Tel-U needs input from alumni who work abroad.

“We ask for input from alumni, what Tel-U should prepare to produce a global generation of nations, and through this event we hope that our younger students will also get inspiration for a global career.” Obviously.

One of the alumni of Telkom University, Ruly Achdiat, the Electrical Engineering Study program ’91, said that skills to enter the global industry can also be honed in Indonesia, because the skills needed in the international world, both in the IT, electrical and other fields others, can also be found in Indonesia.

“The global industry requires skills and experience, and all of that can be obtained by students at the campus where you study in Indonesia. Besides that, you also have to be able to open a wide network, there are many world companies in Indonesia, you can start opening a network from there.” said Ruly.
