ICoICT 2020 : Leveraging ICT for Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development

Telkom University as the best private campus in Indonesia is reflected in the academicians who are constantly improving themselves, students, lecturers, and alumni. Focusing on the field of Research and Entrepreneurial, Telkom University with Gadjah Mada University and Multimedia University Malaysia held The 8th International Conference on Information and Communication Technology (ICoICT 2020).

Located in Yogyakarta, this event was also held live through the GoToWebinar application on Wednesday (6/24) and attended by more than 100 participants from various countries. With the theme ‘Leveraging ICT for Disaster Resilience and Sustainable Development’, the event aims to provide an opportunity to enhance international academic exchange on ICT-related topics and to provide a platform for researchers to discuss new problems and solutions.

The event was opened by remarks from the Chair of ICoICT Dr. Ema Rachmawati. In his remarks Dr. Ema expressed her gratitude to Telkom University, Gadjah Mada University and Multimedia University Malaysia for their support of this event.

“I also want to give extraordinary appreciation to the authors and reviewers as well as all participants who have participated in this 2020 ICoICT. I thank the keynotes and speakers who have contributed to the most important part of this program, “he said.

Dr. Ema hopes this event can take place successfully until the end and the holding of this event can inspire researchers in the future, especially regarding the use of ICT as a solution in sustainable development.

Furthermore Prof. Dr. Triyono as Dean of the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Gadjah Mada University gave his remarks. Prof. Dr. Triyono delivered this event can provide opportunities to exchange new knowledge, especially in the field of ICT through interactive dialogue between participants from various countries

“I hope this event will provide positive value through collaboration, networking and sustainable development in the future. Hopefully this event will be useful for young researchers on various ICT issues, “he said.

Prof. Ts Dr. Lau Siong Hoe as Dean of the Information and Technology Faculty of MMU gave his remarks. Prof. Ts Dr. Lau Siong Hoe said that it was hoped that this conference would continue to be held in the following years with even more participants.

Furthermore Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya as the Rector of Telkom University officially opened the ICoICT 2020 event. Dr. Adiwijaya also gave a speech at the Opening Ceremony ICoICT 2020. He expressed his gratitude to those who made this event run successfully.

 

“This event is very beneficial and has a big impact, not only for ICT research at Telkom University and Indonesia, but also for the whole world. Thank you to the committee, reviewers and all participants in this event, “he said.

The Opening Ceremony closed with a performance from Telkom University Choir and continued with the main event, which was the keynote speech.
