Increasing Wireless Mesh Network Capacity Through Modification of Algorithm Resource Allocation

Dr. Nachwan Mufti Adriansyah, ST, MT, lecturer from Faculty of Electrical Engineering Telkom University (FTE Tel-U) reached a doctorate in electrical engineering. This was the first doctoral degree achieved by lecturer of Tel-U in 2016.
Nachwan presented a study about increasing the capacity of wireless mesh network through modification of Algorithm Resource Allocation. “I propose a greedy method by weighting which is combined with geometric partitioning to improve the algorithm capacity performance of Spatial Time Division Multiple Access with relatively low computational complexity,” he said.
Besides that, Nachwan added, he proposed an algorithm based on a decision (Hybrid Decision-based algorithm) with SINR modification to improve capacity performance of Wireless Mesh Network, but with tolerance of parameter reduction on mesh coverage probability and SINR margin.
The trial, which took place in Engineering Center Building, Faculty of Engineering, University of Indonesia on Thursday (14/1) was led by Prof. Dr. Ir. Harry Sudibyo, DEA, Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, M.Sc., M.Eng., with members Prof. Dr. Ir. Riri Fitri Sari, M.Sc., M.Eng., Dr. Ir. Anak Agung Putri Ratna, M. Eng., Prof. Dr. Ir. Adit Kurniawan, M.Eng. At that session, Nachwan managed to get 3.87of GPA with “excellent” tittle.
“I look forward to colleagues who have not applied for doctoral, to apply the major which relate to technical field or science, so that Tel-U able to expand the existence in the academic world and research,” he said. (purel / AW)
