BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University launched the Telkom University Police Post on Wednesday (15/11). The Bandung Police Chief, Kombes Pol Kusworo Wibowo, was also present at the launching, accompanied by the Main Director of the Telkom Education Foundation (YPT), Dodi Irawan, S.T., and the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya.
In his remarks, the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya expressed his gratitude for the collaboration with the Bandung Police Chief in the launching of this Police Post.
“Telkom University always tries to synergize to build a better nation. This facility (police post) aims to build a sense of security and comfort for the Tel-U academic community. Thank you for this collaboration. Hopefully, in the future, this collaboration can be even wider.” said Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya.
The Main Director of YPT, Dodi Irawan, S.T., said that this was a step to strengthen Tel-U and Polri’s future cooperation.
“Hopefully we will be allowed to visit the Bandung Police Chief and establish even better cooperation. We hope that this security facility will help us avoid internal and external disturbances,” explained Dodi Irawan, S.T.
Bandung Police Chief, Kombes Pol Kusworo Wibowo, said that it is hoped that the police post in the Telkom University environment can anticipate criminal acts in the Telkom University environment.
“I appreciate Tel-U for helping the National Police to maintain security by modernizing the Police Post which has been established since 2012 at Tel-U. CCTV is already available for monitoring, loudspeakers to give appeals, and so on. The presence of this technology and the personnel on duty, hopefully, can minimize criminal acts on campus and its surroundings.” he said.
The location of Tel-U Police Post is at gate 4 of the campus, located in front of the Syamsul Ulum Mosque and close to the student vehicle parking lot. This location is considered quite prone to motor vehicle theft, so the presence of the Police Post here is expected to minimize crime and strengthen cooperation with the Bandung Police.
