MoCkey Startup Is Capable of Early Detecting Kidney Disease

Kidney is a vital organ for human life. The function of the kidney is to filter blood. These days, most people are unaware of the importance of kidney’s health condition. Kidney disease has a serious long-term effect, death; and, the serious short-term effect, continuous hemodialysis.

Rohmat Saedudin, one of the investors of Mockey Startup, develops an application which is capable of detecting the condition of the kidney. This study came from Rohmat’s experience himself, where his relative was diagnosed with kidney failure without early symptoms and he further teamed up with Maman Abdurohman, Yunendah Nurfuadah, Nor Kumalasari Caecar Pratiwi, Fauzy Aulia and Hilda Nuraliza to continue researching the symptoms affecting on kidney’s health condition.

This research had been started since 2018 which focused on algorithms to classify the causes of kidney disease. The algorithm being developed is called Relative Tolerance Relation Rough Set (RTRS) with an international journal output goal.

The research was later continued in 2019 by making an android-based application with the same algorithm from the 2018’s research. The output generated six parameters, namely hemoglobin, blood sugar level, blood pressure, creatine, weight, and cholesterol level.

In 2020, the team got approval to get a funding program from the Indonesia Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology called Prospective Technology-Based Startup Company (CPPBT). Since then, this research got its brand name called MoCkey.

This MoCkey (Monitoring of Chronical Kidney) application has one main feature, which is to calculate the index of result showing the probability of an object indicated as kidney disease based on the parameter of zero percent, twenty five percent, fifty percent, seventy five percent, and a hundred percent.

Different from any other research focusing on kidney condition, this research focuses on early detection of kidney disease by identifying the causes and defining which dominant factors of the kidney’s function failure. This application hopefully will give benefits to people.

“We hope that this application will be continuously beneficial for people although it is still in continuous development,” Rohmat said.

In its developing process, MoCkey has partnered with Bandung Techno Park of Telkom University since 2021. There will be continuous development in the future due to a proposition of collaboration from two institutions, Simpel Pola Data Firm and Sragen Health Office. Those two institutions hope to take advantage of MoCkey. Nevertheless, because of many aspects needed in MoCkey development, the team hopes that MoCkey will still be able under BTP assistance.

“We hope that this app will still be incubated by BTP. We are still waiting for further programs such as PPBT or the program for commercializing any other innovations, internally or externally,” Rohmat said.
