BANDUNG, TEL-U – Nowadays, we are facing many challenges to the environment. Among these are climate change and air pollution, threats to biodiversity, pollution of the oceans, and a lot of land change into desert.

These challenges arise because of the people who do not understand how everything is interconnected environment. “We have learned that if we ignore the ecology and the environment, it could be destroyed the human life too.”

It is delivered by Norway Ambassador to Indonesia Stig Traavik in the Leader’s Talk in Tokong Nanas Building Floor 8 Telkom University (Tel-U), Thursday (27/10). Monthly event which is organized by the International Class Academic Office (ICAO) entitled “Growing Eco-Leadership in Educational Ecosystem for More Sustainable Indonesia”.

Stig said, the community has a great opportunity to better care about the environment. Today many technological breakthroughs developed by humans. “What is needed now is more knowledge and how to use these technologies properly,” he said.

Chairman Committee of Leader’s Talk 9th, Eka Yuliana, ST, MSM said that the theme of Leader’s Talk is chosen to move the eco-leadership soul especially for students of Telkom University. “We as an educational institution has begun to have a role to shape the character of our students and the academic community to become the future leaders were very concerned with the environment,” he said.

Meanwhile, the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Ir. Mochamad Ashari, M.Eng Ph.D said that the topic of the Leader’s Talk to-9 is very interesting because it can share knowledge on renewable energy and sustainable applied in Norway. “It would be very good if Indonesia could also remind the use of renewable and sustainable energy in everyday life,” he said.
