Public Relations will be A New Study Program, Soon!

BANDUNG, TEL-U – In the near future, Telkom University (Tel-U) will open the new study program (Prodi) at the School of Communication and Business (FKB), S1 Study Program Public Relations (PR). 

Setting up the best content for this new study programs, along with a number of lecturers and Expertise Group (KK) PR FKB held a sharing session which took place in the LSP PR Lt.3 Manterawu Building, Wednesday (22/6). The theme PR Sharing Session: The Current Trends of PR Practices, this event presented by speakers from the Association of Public Relations and Aspikom to provide input on PR trends which aims to provide insight into strengthening the lecture content.

Head of Corporate Communications of PT Bio Farma as the chairman of the Association of Public Relations (Perhumas) Bandung, Nurlaela Arief, MBA. MIPR said that in built a corporate brand, there was 9 points that affected the reputation, one of which was in the quality management. “Building new study programs PR in Tel-U, it means that is building a good quality for this campus,” she said.

Through nomenclature number 1030 in 2010 the chairman of the Association of Higher Education Communication Science (Aspikom) Dr Heri Budianto MSi explained that exists Higher Education Decree which recognizes that in a clump of Communication Sciences there was six areas that could be introduced into the study program and one of them was a Public Relations (PR).

Heri also supports the opening of this new study programs. “Not a lot of PR study programs existing, and the Tel-U already start something good,” said Heri.

Closing the event, Dean FKB Dr. Jafar Sembiring said communication science in Indonesia should continue to grow, so as not to lose competitiveness with countries outside. “The product of science communication in Indonesia should not lose competitiveness with science communication from the outside,” he said.
