BANDUNG, Telkom University โ The concept of โSustainabilityโ and โSustainable Developmentโ which is currently known as SDGs 2030, is a concept that has been started since the 1960s, where this activity is directed to Sustainable Development to utilize all resources to improve quality of life and social welfare.
The International Conference on Sustainable Development (ICSD) is present as a forum for discussions of experts and the global community about the concepts of โSustainabilityโ, โSustainable Developmentโ and SDGs 2030. At the 9th ICSD held 20 โ 22 September 2021, a lecturer at the Faculty of Economics and Business Telkom University (FEB Tel-U) Dr. Ratna Lindawati Lubis, submitted a case study script entitled Telkom University’s Socio-Ecopreneurship Project: Student Engagement to Implement the SDGs in Bandung Indonesia, and managed to become a showcase from hundreds of submissions received by the ICSD 2021 committee.
Dr. Ratna explained that the โSocio-Ecopreneurship Projectโ is a Project-Based Learning (PBL) for graduate students in business management that tests the application of project management skills to operationalize SDGs at the local level.
โSocial-Ecopreneurship Projectโ is not a learning goal, but a means. This is not limited to a simple application of the knowledge acquired in the previous semester but also allows the development of new skills and the acquisition of more knowledge to address the challenges and goals represented by the SDGs. In addition, the concept of the โSocio-Ecopreneurship Projectโ is related to the physical concept of sustainability, including those rooted in values ??and choices based on ethical principles.โ Obviously.
The overall goal of this โSocio-Ecopreneurship Projectโ, Ratna explained, is to advance educational innovation in Education for Sustainable Development (ESD) at Telkom University.
“In addition, we also want to provide quality graduates in the future with the necessary competencies to initiate change towards a more sustainable society.”
Ratna Lubis said that the presence of Telkom University on SDGs on a global scale is a form of Telkom University’s commitment to achieving SDGs 2030.
