Rector Invited the Lecturer to Improve the Quality of Resources

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Rector of Telkom University (Tel-U), Prof. Ir Mochamad Ashari M Eng, PhD invited all lecturer to participate and improved the quality of resources. It is delivered by Rector during the opening Class Coordination Meeting Assisted Second Semester Academic Year 2015/2016, which was attended by hundreds of professors from seven faculties, in the Faculty of Applied Sciences’ Hall, on Thursday (7/1).

According to Rector, start the 2016, Tel-U must be ready to welcome the Asean Economic Community (AEC), which has been started as of 1st January. Therefore the academic society, especially lecturers and students should improve the quality and ready to compete with the resources from other countries. Moreover, along with it, according to Tel-U strategic plan, 2016 is the stage of adjusting the academic resource.

“In 2016 our program is to improve both human resources and assets. For example if you want to be an international class, but English skill is still not optimal, means it needs extra efforts. Students also need certification in addition to lectureres who continue to improve its quality, “said Rector.

In last 2015, Rector added, the quality of students increased. It is seen from the number of alumni who are absorbed by the industry. In 2015, about 32 percent of graduates are absorbed by Telkom Group, 11 percent by the finance industry, and the rest is divided into various industries.

“Last year Huawei receives 230 new employees and about 25 percent or 59 people is a graduate fromTelkom University. There are 35 people accepted in the ZTE, and currently in Telkomsel, there is 30 percent employees to its leaders are graduates from our campus, “he said.

Besides students’ quality, Tel-U also continue to improve the quality of lecturers. Now there have been 78 lecturers who have acquire a doctorate. In addition 28 percent of the 700 lecturers or about 190 people, are studying S3 both at local and abroad universities. (purel / raf)
