BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University inaugurated a new “hangout” place for academics. Located on the School of Applied Sciences (FIT) 4th Floor, this place is Ko+Lab, where Telkom University academics can spend time studying and discussing.
Ko+Lab (Collaboration of Business Industry Startup and Laboratory UMKM) is a co-working space lab that all Telkom University academics can enjoy.
The Dean of FIT, Angga Rusdinar, Ph.D., said that this place allows students, lecturers and the academic community to discuss and seek inspiration in creating innovations that benefit society.
“The laboratory we mean in this place is a place for students from various study programs to be able to discuss in creating startups, producing research and innovations that will later be beneficial not only for Telkom University but also for the community,” he said.
Furthermore, Angga explained that in this place, the academic community could also enjoy a meal, either eating or drinking. This place is a collaboration of all study programs at FIT and does not rule out the possibility for all study programs at Telkom University.
“We hope this cup of coffee at the FIT Ko+Lab can generate new ideas which can later be translated into research and innovation results that can produce startups that benefit society.” Said Aga.
Ko+Lab was inaugurated directly by the Chancellor of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, where Prof. Adiwijaya welcomed this place. He believes many inspirations and ideas could emerge here, resulting in a big startup someday. It aligns with Telkom University’s vision to become a research and entrepreneurial university.
“My message is, in creating a useful innovation, we must be able to see what problems exist in the community. We must first go down to the community to see what the community needs so that what we produce later can be implemented and beneficial for the community.”
