StartUpHub Meetup: Challenge Student to Establish Startups

BANDUNG, Telkom University – One of Telkom University (Tel-U) goals is to create graduates who will be involved in the world of entrepreneurship. Therefore StartUpHub answers these needs by accommodating students in innovating to realize their ideas into a startup that has innovation.

Faculty of Communication and Business Telkom University collaborates with the StartUpHub community to organize a startup seminar and exhibition entitled “How to Start a Student Startup” on Thursday (27/2) in the Hall of the 5th Communication and Business Faculty.

Dean of the Faculty of Communication and Business Ade Irma Susanty, M.M., Ph.D. in his speech explained that students have built Startup since they were in college.

“We collaborate with all faculties at Telkom University to help students in developing a startup. so we hope that the students have started building startup since they were in college, “she said.

The first session delivered by the Head of StartUpHub.id Taufan Umbara, S.T., M.M., FOTA Founder Agung Irianto, and Bandung 1000Startup Coordinator Dian R. Helmi and Director of Bandung Techno Park DR. Maman Abdurahman. Taufan Umbara said that StartUpHub is an open community to collaborate with any faculty because in developing startups students must be able to collaborate across sciences.

Agung Irianto and Dian R. Helmi described the opportunities for students to build a startup in the present. Agung Irianto said, “Students must have the courage to start a startup”. In line with this, Maman Abdurahman explained BTP Telkom University’s support in facilitating students in building startups.

The last session delivered by Firza Maulana Nasution CEO GoniGoni and Rizsa El Akbar CEO Ketringan. Both of them are still active as Telkom University students. They shared their experiences in pioneering startups with only ideas, friends, and support from the coaches. At the event, there were also exhibited 15 StartUpHub fostered startups, where GoniGoni and Ketringan were one of the StartupHub fostered startups.

The event was also attended by Mr.Ton Voortman, PUM Coordinator for Business Support Organizations and Incubators from PUM Netherlands Senior Expert. Mr.Ton greatly appreciated the implementation and innovation of the startups who took part in the mini-exhibition at the StartUpHub Meetup 1.0.

StartUpHub is a research community organized by a student startup located in the Faculty of Communication and Business. StartUpHub has an office in Manterawu Building, 3rd Floor Room 304 and 305, Faculty of Communication and Business.
