Bandung, Telkom University โ Muhammadiyah University of Cirebon made a visit to Telkom University on Wednesday (6/1). This visit aims to strengthen collaboration between universities, share knowledge in the field of Information and Communication Technology (ICT), and plan to conduct joint research in the future.
This was stated by the Rector of Muhammadiyah Cirebon (UM Cirebon), Arif Nurdin, M.T. when the event took place at the Tel-U Bangkit Building. According to him, as a private university, it is necessary to accelerate in various fields. Especially for UM Cirebon, which is only five years old.
“Our presence here wants to learn about ICT-based campus management, and this is because we are currently building the system. We think studying this is very relevant to Tel-U,” said Arif.
UM, Cirebon, a few years ago, was a tertiary institution under the guidance of Telkom University. Currently, UM Cirebon has won the B Ban-PT accreditation. His visit to Tel-U was also a form of appreciation for the guidance given by Tel-U at that time.
“Tel-U had contributed greatly to us, especially when we became PT Binan some time ago. Alhamdulillah, currently, we have succeeded in obtaining B accreditation. Hopefully, in the future, the collaboration that we form will become a tool so that we can go further in all things.” said Arif.
Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, said that it is hoped that the two universities will have many collaborations that can be realized in the future.
“This gathering certainly strengthens collaboration, following our vision, which is to become a research and entrepreneurial university. Of course, this is not an easy thing to do alone, so we are happy if there is a collaboration like this.” Welcome, Adiwijaya.
The Chancellor of Tel-U explained that with technology, the potential of all things could be utilized to the fullest. So far, campus management at Tel-U has been integrated and has an ICT-based system.
In addition to improving technology infrastructure, he also emphasized that developing the potential of human resources is no less critical. It is to create a strong work culture and harmony to build the synergy of the academic community in it.
Besides UM Cirebon, UM Bandung also attended this visit. Rector of Muhammadiyah Bandung, Prof. Dr. Herry Suhardiyanto, revealed that in the future, it is hoped that there will be opportunities for Joint Research between UM and Tel-U, which may be in collaboration with the expertise of the lecturers here.
“Join research that we think will be quite interesting, one of which is in our Food Technology Study Program. For collaboration with study programs at Tel-U, we hope that there will be further discussions,” he hoped.
