Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya, was officially inaugurated as Chairman of the Association of Informatics and Computer Universities (APTIKOM) West Java on Thursday (7/7) which was held in the Hall of the Faculty of Applied Sciences. Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya will start his leadership as Chairman of APTIKOM West Java in the period 2022 to 2026 later. In his speech, he revealed that creating digital talent is the main focus of his program.
“We understand the current lack of digital talent. It is a challenge for all of us to print digital talent for the Indonesian nation. We need to produce a generation with a useful skill set, especially in solving societal problems. APTIKOM West Java must be part of this solution.” Adiwijaya said.
He also emphasized that later all the programs at APTIKOM must intersect with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) because, according to him, 70% of the SDGs have the role of technology in them. APTIKOM, which is an IT-based association, is, of course, very close to implementing IT at every point in the SDGs.
At this event, West Java APTIKOM administrators were also inaugurated, with more than 70 participants from various universities in West Java. Telkom University’s host of the event is proud to be part of one of the best associations in West Java.
The Chairman of APTIKOM, Prof. Dr. Zaenal Hasibuan, who was also present at the inauguration event, gave the mandate to print innovations in solving community problems immediately. According to him, teachers need to have a variety of external activities, not only teaching in class.
“The Merdeka Learning Campus Merdeka (MBKM) program has the essence of forcing us to leave the classroom and look for new experiences, relationships, and ideas to see what we can provide to solve societal problems. I hope that in this new leadership, APTIKOM West Java will continue to prosper,” said Zaenal.
