BANDUNG, TEL-U – Dozens of Telkom University (Tel-U) students spread the spirit of unity in diversity through the event titled Eksotika Nusantara 2016 (The Exotic Archipelago, red). The event is organized by the 11 Student Activity Unit (SMEs) in the field of art and culture was held at Telkom University Convention Hall (TUCH), Saturday (3/12).

This grand masterpiece was present various performance like arts, cultural markets, fashion shows, live music and exhibition.

Chairman of the Committee exotica Nusantara 2016, Mohamad Fahmi, said the purpose of the event was to prove that Indonesian culture is not inferior to foreign cultures. “Today many young people prefer foreign cultures than the Indonesian, so that through this event we want to convey that the native culture of Indonesia is also awesome compare with others,” he said.

Vice Rector IV Dr M Yahya Arwiyah, SH, MH, said this event shows that the spirit of unity in diversity in Tel-U is actually materialize and can be applied in everyday life. “Tonight, The Mother Nature smiled at you all showed fairly high awareness of the cultural richness of the archipelago and the spirit of Unity in Diversity” he said.

Meanwhile, Director of Student Affairs, Andijoko Tjahjono, said Eksotika Nusantara 2016 is proof that students of Tel-U is able to maintain the identity of the Indonesian nation. “We make this evening as night Indonesia one, in which all cultures converge in Eksotika Nusantara Indonesia,” he said.

Andijoko hope this activity become an annual event in Tel-U as a form of love for the culture of Indonesia. “Hopefully this can become an annual agenda to increase our love to the people of Indonesia,” he said. (PR / AW)
