BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University as the Best Private University (PTS) in Indonesia, continues to improve quality in education to create outstanding human resources for Indonesia. The No.1 PTS predicate in Indonesia was achieved by Telkom University for 2 consecutive years, between 2019 and 2020.
This predicate was achieved from various aspects, especially covering the main task of higher education, namely the Tridharma of Higher Education, besides that the entry of Telkom University to become an independent cluster university, made Telkom University equal with State Universities (PTN) in Indonesia.
The quality of education at Telkom University has also been recognized globally. Telkom University managed to enter the ranks of the world’s best universities and entered the 9 best universities in Indonesia alongside 8 PTNs, based on the ranking of the Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings (WUR) ).
Tel-U also won 4 Stars Overall in the QS Stars review, which based on several indicators Tel-U won five stars, covering the fields of Teaching (Teaching), Employability, Academic Development, Facilities, Inclusiveness, Program Strength: Bachelor of Informatics and Online Learning.
And at the ASIA level, based on the QS World University Rankings Regional ASIA, Telkom University is ranked 401-450, whereof the 11 assessment indicators, Tel-U has the highest score on the International Faculty indicator (International Class).
Entering 2021 this time, it was reported from the official website www.webometrics.info. Telkom University again ranks first PTS as the university with the best website.
Webometrics is a system that provides an assessment of all the best universities in the world through a website that is assessed from 4 components, namely, Presence, Visibility, Transparency (or Openness), and Excellence (or Scholar).
The Presence component is assessed from the size (number of pages) of the institution’s main web domain with a weight of 5%, the Visibility component is assessed from the number of external networks connected to the institution’s web page with a weight of 50%, the Transparency (or Openness) component is assessed from the number of citations the top 110 authors with a weight of 10% and the Excellence component assessed the number of papers among the top 10% most cited over the five years (2013-2017).
Webometrics is annually announcing the ranking of world universities based on its website performance in January and July, and in January 2020, Telkom University is ranked 2,405 in the world, while in July 2020 it has increased to be ranked 1,435 in the world and ranked 5th in Indonesia, and in early 2021. Today, Telkom University is ranked 1,376 in the world and ranked 7 in Indonesia.
Rector of Telkom University Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya said that the achievements of Tel-U from year to year are a form of Tel-U’s commitment to providing good quality education for this nation because the golden generation that is the nation’s vision is produced from quality universities in it.
