BANDUNG, TEL-U – Two teams of Telkom University won the championship at the National Debate Competition Management Fair 2016 organized by Student Association of Information Technology and Business Management Institute (IBI) Darmajaya Lampung, Wednesday-Friday (6-8 / 4).
Two teams that are Businessman and Opteamism. Businessman team consists of M Faisal Rynaldi AK, Ryan Hidayat Nur Baiti, and Mukti Bawono Wicaksono (three students from MBTI Faculty of Economics and Business) achieved a second place. While the Opteamism team consists of Nabilla Dyah Eka P. (Marketing Management), Fathia N. Fatimah and Mufida Nursufyana (IKOM, Faculty of Communication and Business) won the third place. Both teams from SEARCH unit, Tel-U.
Competition with theme “Create Creative Entrepreneurs with Creative Business” was followed by eight teams from various universities in Indonesia.
On this competition, the Businessman and Opteamism faced each other in the semifinals. Fathia said, met the team from the same university in a competition is an impressive thing. “We are accustomed to practicing together, so we already know the weaknesses and strengths possessed by each team,” she said.
In line with Fathia, Rynaldi felt that the semifinal became the most exciting stage. “Because we have similar debate technique, it’s a bit tricky” said Rynaldi.
Rynaldi said, both teams had been prepared for two weeks to practice together under SEARCH guide. “We are preparing carefully in order to get the title, because we believe that effort will never betray the results,” he said.
Moreover, on this competition Fathia also won awards for Best Speaker. “I also do not know why I could get this award, perhaps because I have always been accustomed to speak in public,” said Fathia.
Fathia expected, this accomplishment can be an example for other students from Telkom University.”Try to compete outside campus with the name of Telkom University, the atmosphere there will be very different,” she concluded. (Purel / EAD)
