Want to be a World Class? Universities Should Register the HKI

BANDUNG, TEL-U – Universities in Indonesia should register on the work, innovation and technology resulting academic citizens. It became one of the requirements if the university willing to achieve world class.

It was submitted by the Director of Cooperation and Promotion Directorate General of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) Ministry of Justice and Human Rights Affairs, Parlagutan Lubis, SH., MH on Intellectual Property workshop which took place in Multimedia Room Bangkit Building Telkom University (Tel-U), Monday (15/6).

According Parlagutan, IPR include intellectual property, copyright, feeling and intention someone that is inherent and exclusive for its owner. “So with his creator could be recognized,” said Parlagutan.

He added that the moral rights of intellectual property that cannot be removed from its owner. Although one is registering his work on behalf of the institution, the name of the creator cannot be eliminated.

“One of the goals of IPRs is to encourage creators to continue working. So as to create a conducive environment to work. Besides, HKI also aimed at creating a conducive business environment and create healthy competition. Protecting IPR return of investment companies and encourage business development, “he explained.

Meanwhile, Vice Rector for Student Affairs Dr. Tel-U M. Yahya Arwiyah, SH., MH hope this IPR workshop can provide insight and knowledge on IPR wider academic community for Tel-U. (Purel / risca)
