APERTI and GLU Strengthen Collaboration in the Area of Threefold Missions of Higher Education (Tri Dharma Perguruan Tinggi)

APERTI DAN GLU JALIN KERJASAMA

Bandung, Telkom University – Alliance of State-Owned Universities (APERTI BUMN) Indonesia and Government Linked Universities (GLU) Malaysia, renewed the agreement of collaboration in the area of education, research and community service.

The collaboration is stated in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by the chief of APERTI BUMN, Prof. Adiwijaya and Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud as the chief of GLU during the “Top Leaders Meeting of APERTI and GLU” session held in Hotel Pullman, Legian Bali, Tuesday, January 17th, 2023.

The collaboration is a follow-up to the state visit of Malaysian Prime Minister Dato’ Seri Anwar Bin Ibrahim to Indonesia where he was welcomed by the President of Indonesia, Joko Widodo, in the Presidential Palace in Bogor, West Java, January 9th, 2023.

Government Linked University is an association of universities owned by State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) in Malaysia. Currently, the members of GLU Malaysia consist of four universities: University of Kuala Lumpur (UniKL), University of Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN), Multimedia University (MMU), and Universiti Teknologi Petronas (UPT).

APERTI BUMN is an association of universities owned by State-Owned Enterprises in Indonesia. It consists of 8 universities including Telkom University (Tel-U), University of Pertamina, Semen Indonesia University of International (UISI), University of Logistics and International Business (ULB), PLN Institute of Technology (IT PLN), IT Telkom Institute of Technology Surabaya (ITT Surabaya), Telkom Institute of Technology Purwokerto (ITT Purwokerto) and Telkom Institute of Technology Jakarta (ITT Jakarta).

The chief of APERTI BUMN and the Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Adiwijaya, states that the collaboration between the two alliances of the two countries could bring benefits for every university in each alliance and for the people of Indonesia and Malaysia.

“We hope that the benefits can be brought for the people of Indonesia and Malaysia and with this collaboration, we can strengthen each of the alliances and the universities under the alliance.” He said.

Agreed with Prof. Adiwijaya, the chairman of GLU and the president of MMU, Prof. Dato’ Dr. Mazliham Mohd Su’ud hoped that the collaboration could create new collaborations for each university under APERTI and GLU.

In addition to the renewal of collaboration between the Alliances, there was also the signing of a collaboration agreement between the National Energy Berhad (TNB) Malaysia in collaboration with PT PLN (Persero) Indonesia, and then the PLN Institute of Technology (ITPLN) with Universiti Tenaga Nasional University (United) Malaysia.
