Kumoh National Institute of Technology Korea and Tel-U Collaborative Research Initiation

Bandung, Telkom University – As a world-class university, Telkom University continues to strive to build national and international collaboration networks, as evidenced by the visit of Kumoh National Institute of Technology, located in Gumi, South Korea, on Thursday (23/2) to the School of Electrical Engineering to initiate research collaboration in the fields of Metaverse and Blockchain.

This visit was conducted by the Vice Director of the ICT Convergence Research Center, Prof. Jae Min Lee. According to him, Tel-U, which excels in the field of ICT, is a relevant research partner for the Kumoh National Institute of Technology. Apart from collaboration in the research field, Jae Min Lee hoped that there will be other collaborations that can be carried out in the future.

“Perhaps we can do lecturer and student exchanges. Therefore, it can provide new experiences and knowledge for them. Our current focus is on the field of blockchain and the metaverse, and we hope to bring a positive impact to those fields,” said Jae Min Lee.

The Dean of School of Electrical Engineering (FTE), Dr. Bambang Setia Nugroho, S.T, M.T., had a positive response to the international research collaboration initiation, stating that Tel-U is always open to strategic collaboration opportunities which can provide many benefits for stakeholders.

“First of all, I would like to welcome you to Tel-U. The research collaboration in the field of metaverse and blockchain has a strategic position at the moment as the trend is heading in that direction. We must quickly respond to these changes. Currently, Tel-U also has a lab that specifically researches Virtual Reality (VR). In the future, there will be more similar facilities to support this field,” stated Bambang.
