Microsoft and Tel-U Prepare International Certification for Students

In collaboration with Microsoft, Telkom University held a Training of Trainers to produce trainer candidates from Tel-U to take part in the Microsoft Learn for Educators program, which was held online on Tuesday (29/3). This activity is intended for Lecturers and TPA interested in becoming a candidate for Microsoft-based certification instructors for students.

Obert Soesanto, the Skilling Manager of Microsoft Education, explained the material on the roadmap available in Microsoft Education. Some of the services that prospective trainers can participate in are Microsoft Learn and LinkedIn Learning, Azure in Education, and Microsoft Certifications.

“Through these services, prospective trainers can determine what kind of skill set they want to learn. Later, learning paths can be followed according to the trainer’s wishes. That way, the trainer will master teaching materials relevant to their passion and background of expertise.” Obert said.

Director of Postgraduate and Advanced Learning, Dr. Achmad Rizal, S.T., M.T., is optimistic that through the collaboration between Microsoft and Tel-U, it will be easier for Tel-U students to get international certifications recognized worldwide. According to him, this will increase the credibility of Tel-U graduates in the industrial world.

“In the future, we will have many certifications. If possible, all students can take this certification from Microsoft. We have been having trouble finding internationally recognized certifications, but now (the presence of Microsoft), we can do this on campus. For prospective trainers participating in today’s activities, please make the best of it.” Rizal said.

Fat’hah Noor Prawita, S.T., M.T.  hopes that through this training activity, Tel-U will be able to produce reliable trainers who are ready to transfer knowledge to students who are also interested in joining Microsoft certification.

“For now, there are 100 certification slots for 1 (100 slots for one person?) Tel-U academics who become trainers. As previously stated, we need as many trainers as possible to give Microsoft certifications to students. Nevertheless, we need to form reliable, certified trainers to help our students later.”
