Red Delima: Exhibition of Women’s Works

Merah Delima: Pameran Karya Perempuan Telkom University: Telkom University, through the Faculty of Creative Industries, again held an exhibition of women’s work ‘Red Delima. This event was held virtually through the ZOOM Meeting on Wednesday (1/12).

This exhibition was held at the Telkom University Idealoka Gallery. It is the 3rd Red Delima exhibition specifically intended for female lecturers at universities, especially at Telkom University, University of North Malaysia, and the Indonesian Institute of Cultural Arts in Bandung. This exhibition displays 25 works, such as poetry, photography, collages, paintings, and other works of art.

The Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation of Telkom University, Dr. Ir, opened this exhibition. Rina Pudji Astuti, M.T. In his speech, Dr. Rina said that this exhibition could depict women who can create, think and work.

“So indeed, one of the potentials of this woman is the ability to feel and empathize with other people. This woman is amazing.”

The Dean of the Faculty of Creative Industries at Telkom University, Dr. Roro Retno Wulan, S.Sos., M.Pd, explained that this exhibition was also held to commemorate Mother’s Day on December 22. This exhibition can remind the significant role of women in development, education, and all aspects of life.

“Entitled Unrevealed Passion, Merah Delima this time is bolder. It describes a great desire, hopes, and ideals hindered by certain hidden limitations.

Runik Magfirah, as Curator at the Red Delima Exhibition, explained that women are noble creatures created by God, so that God guarantees that heaven is under the feet of Mother. Movement and change as innovation are carried out by women with the power of collaboration, resulting in the creation of the work exhibited at Merah Delima this time.

“Although the condition of Unrelevead Passion, where a great desire, hope, and ideal is blocked by certain limits and has not been or will never be achieved, sometimes happens to women. Through this exhibition, it is hoped that it can be an inspiration for women to continue to work, innovate and collaborate.”
