Tel-U Smart Lighting and Electric Motor Innovation Products in Support of the Green Ecosystem

Bandung, Telkom University – At the peak of Telkom University’s 32nd Anniversary celebration (29/11), Tel-U held the Digital Talent and Innovation: Creating the Future event which included an Inspirational Talk Show, Certified Independent Study Internship Fair (MSIB Fair) ), Launching of Innovation Products, and Telkom University Anniversary Night.

Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya said that Indonesia must now be able to strengthen the digital ecosystem to form a young generation that is globally competitive.

“Digital talent does not only capture existing problems but also prepares innovations and solutions for all the nation’s problems. We need as many digital talents as possible, to welcome massive digital transformation in the future,” said Adiwijaya

This series of activities is in line with the Telkom University Anniversary theme, namely Contribute to The Nation, as a form of contribution that has benefits not only for the Telkom University academic community but also for Indonesia and the world.

In support of this, Telkom University launched several innovative products in collaboration with the Education Fund Management Institution (LPDP), PT. Bio Farma and PT. CORE in the series of Telkom University Anniversary events including Smart Lighting Hestia and Stroom Motor Vehicle.

Hestia Smart Lighting or smart lighting is an innovative product resulting from a research collaboration with industrial partners PT. Bio Farma and PT. CORE. This intelligent lighting system innovation product was created to build an Internet of Things (IoT)-based Green Ecosystem. Green Ecosystem itself is an optimization condition in the utilization of information technology infrastructure that still pays attention to the environment. The application of technology is one of the company’s strategic efforts to improve process performance in managing the company’s systems.

This product is the result of cooperation with PT. INTI which produces and markets is supported by funding from LPDP and PT. Bio Farma is the first agency to utilize smart lighting in its offices.

Founder and Inventor of Smart Lighting Hestia System, Prof. Maman Abdurahman said that the development of Hestia Smart Lighting involved 19 lecturers as a result of collaboration from three faculties, namely, the Faculty of Informatics, the Faculty of Electrical and the Faculty of Economics and Business.

“Thank you to all parties and user partners for their support. Hopefully this product can be an initial product that will continue.” 

The Stroom Motor Vehicle product itself is an innovative product resulting from the collaboration of several faculties including the School of Applied Sciences, the School of Electrical Engineering, and the School of Creative Industries in collaboration with Digital Multi Sinergy and Volta which are designed to be modern vehicles that are environmentally friendly.

β€œIt requires synergy from various parties including ministries, universities and industry. With the hope of being able to produce innovative young generations, the works of lecturers are innovative and provide extraordinary benefits.” Said the Director of Secretariat and Strategic Planning of Telkom University, Dr. Anisah Firli as well as Chair of the Tel-U Anniversary Committee.
