Telkom University Achieved Four Stars in UPM Ranking

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Education World today is closely related to the industrial revolution 4.0 where is needed to support learning, thinking, and developing creative and innovative students to create the next outstanding and capable generation.

In creating a future generation, Telkom University is ready through the program “Merdeka Learn Campus Merdeka” which is promoted by the Ministry of Education and Culture of the Republic of Indonesia. This program required the campus to develop educational strategies to create adaptive, and competitive human resources in this autonomous and disruptive era.

The current program established by Telkom University has been recognized worldwide by achieving the four stars (4 stars) from the University Performance Metric (UPM) for Research-Oriented University and a score of 714.5 out of a maximum score of 1000.

This achievement leads Telkom University in 8th place in Asia and 1st (1) in Indonesia.

UPM itself is a higher education institution assessment system that measures the responsiveness of universities in the current era of the 4th industrial revolution initiated by researchers from Vietnam National University, Hanoi, and its development was funded by the Ministry of Education and Training of Vietnam. UPM integrates the main characteristics of educational accreditation with higher education rankings, while specifically focusing on 5 core characteristics of higher education 4.0 such as entrepreneurship, innovation, digital transformation, student mobility, and ethical values.

UPM evaluates university performance in two aspects such as research and implementation. It through 8 categories which are translated into 54 indicators. The results of the evaluation will be presented in the overall score for the institution and each category represents by 1 – 5 stars.

Here are 8 categories and achievements by Telkom University.

Strategic Governance: Rating 5 with a score of 49 out of a maximum score of 60.

Education: Rating 4 with a score of 195.5 out of a maximum score of 350.

Research: Rating 5 with a score of 155 out of a maximum score of 200.

Innovation: Rating 5 with a score of 85.5 out of a maximum score of 110.

Innovation Ecosystem: Rating 5 with a score of 46 out of a maximum score of 60.

IT Infrastructure: Rating 5 with a score of 83.5 out of a maximum score of 100.

Internationalization: Rating 4 with a score of 40 out of a maximum score of 60.

Community Services: Rating 5 with a score of 60 out of a maximum score of 60.

Rector of Telkom University, Prof. Dr. Adiwijaya said that in the education world in the industrial era 4.0, the curriculum applied must adapt to the future needs. Therefore, Telkom University has implemented a Work Ready Program-based curriculum through internship, entrepreneurship, and research ship programs.

“The achievement of the current UPM Telkom University ranking is proof that Telkom University has prepared the nation’s generation in the future, through the curriculum at Telkom University that is adapted to current industry changes.” Obviously.
