Tel-U Sent a Deep Condolence to BMX Athlete, Taufan Munggaran

BANDUNG, TEL-U – The Academic community of Telkom University (Tel-U) also mourned the passing of Taufan Munggaran, BMX Bike Athlete from Bandung who died during the tournament Indonesia Open X-Sport Championship (IOXC) in 2015, which was held at Telkom University Convention Hall (Tuch), Saturday (3/10).
“Innalillahi wa innailaihi rojiuun, on behalf of the academic community, I express my deep condolence on the passing hurricane one young man who has the potential and achievements,” said Vice Rector IV, Dr. M. Yahya Arwiyah, SH., MH, Sunday (4/10).
On Saturday around 16:00 pm Taufan fell while doing the action trick “no handed” using his BMX bikes. Bike not landed smoothly and bicycle handlebars had stabbed parts of the gut. After the fall, residents of Bandung’s Kebon Gedang Kiaracondong could stand a few seconds. However, he then collapsed and fainted.
The medical team then provide first aid and get students in grade IX by ambulance to the Muhammadiyah Hospital Bandung. However the fate decided contrariwise. Child who had loved BMX bikes since elementary school that breathed his last on the way to hospital.
Vice Rector IV wished this event becomes a lesson for all parties to be more careful. “We are both grieving and should be able to take lessons from this incident. Hopefully in any activity whatsoever us more cautious, “he said.
Meanwhile, in a press conference held by the committee of IOXC 2015, Bandung BMX Coach, Tubagus Tresnadi Asep said, Taufan is a BMX rider potential. He had become a professional player this extreme sport even though he is still very young. “On this event, he joined the pro group, coupled with participants from France and Hungary,” said the man who familiarly called, Apep.
IOXC 2015 an extreme sports which organized by five associations, that was BMX Indonesia Association, Indonesia Skateboard Federation, Indonesia Freestyle Rollerblading (IFR), Basketball Association of Indonesia, and Indonesia Bboy Community. The event held from Friday (2/10), and closed on Sunday (4/10) night.
According to Apep who also one of the judges in this competition, IOXC this time was the seventh. “Previously held in Denpasar, Bandung, Makassar, Palembang, Yogyakarta and Semarang. The participants came from within and outside the country such as Thailand, France, and Hungary, “said Apep. (purel / raf)
