BSI University Visit to Telkom University

Bandung, Telkom University – On Friday, February 17, 2023, Telkom University welcomed a group of guests from Bina Sarana Informatika University (BSI University). The visit, which was held in the Meeting Room of Telkom University Landmark Tower on the 16th floor, aimed to conduct a comparative study of the Schools, Program Curriculum Design, and internal quality assurance system.

The event was attended by the Dean of the School of Industrial Engineering, the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, the Head of Bachelor and Diploma Information Systems Study Programs, the Head of Bachelor Electrical Engineering Study Program, the Head of Diploma Software Engineering Study Program, and representatives of the Telkom University Quality Development Unit team.

Dr. Didi Rosiyadi, M.Kom., the Dean of the School of Engineering and Informatics stated that BSI already considered Tel-U as their big brother of BSI University since they are only separated by a few years, yet Tel-U has experienced rapid development. “We, BSI University, have already considered Tel-U as our big brother because Tel-U is more senior than BSI and Tel-U’s development is growing rapidly,” he said.

Lita Sari Marita, M.Kom., the Head of Quality Assurance & Accreditation Agency (BPMA) added that BSI University was eager to learn from Tel-U, specifically regarding school development, curriculum design, and human resource development. “Human resource development at Tel-U is very well developed. It can be seen from the high number of doctorates.”

In response to this, Dr. Bambang Setia Nugroho, the Dean of the School of Electrical Engineering, stated that Tel-U aims to seek only the best lecturers to become teaching staff. “We prioritize prospective lecturers who have completed or are currently pursuing their doctoral studies. In addition, we also provide funding for existing lecturers to continue their doctoral studies. Furthermore, we promise additional benefits for lecturers who pursue their doctoral studies.”

In addition to the discussion session, the guests from Bina Sarana Informatika University were also guided to visit the laboratories and classrooms in the School of Industrial Engineering. “In addition to classroom activities, we also require students to engage in activities outside the classroom and collect Student Activity Transcript (TAK) as a requirement for the defense. One of the activities that support students to obtain TAK scores is conducting activities in the laboratory,” said Dr. Irfan Darmawan, S.T., M.T., the Dean of the School of Industrial Engineering.
