Telkom University Digitizes the Information System of Tourism in Kampung Todo

As one of the forms of innovation and research implementation, Telkom University’s students developed the information system for tourism in Kampung Todo, East Nusa Tenggara. This development was taken by underlying the potential of the tourism village in Kampung Todo which is full of tradition and is not yet integrated to digital media with an expectation to broaden the cultural heritage and to boost the economy of Kampung Todo. The development itself has started since October 10, 2022.

Fath Muhammad Isham (Bachelor of Computer Engineering of School of Electrical Engineering) as the head of the project, with Rifdo Shah Alam (Bachelor of Computer Engineering of School of Electrical Engineering) and Luciani Gratiarsa J (Bachelor of Language and Literature Education of PGRI University of Kajuruan, Malang) assisted by the lecturer of Computer Engineering, Umar Ali Ahmad, Ph.D designed a product of digital information system to support the tourism and economic sector of Kampung Todo locals in a form of website, http://kampungtodo.id.

Beside developing the media of information, the students also socialize the process of the development of information system for tourism in Kampung Todo. This project aims to make that media of information sustainable.

“For the tourism officer, they can add content to the websites such as pictures, local folklore, and many more. Moreover, during the project there, the team was accompanied by the tourism aware group (Pokdarwis) and community information group (KIM) to do the orientation there,” Fath said.

In addition to supporting the sustainability goals initiated by PBB, the collaboration was an important element for this project. The collaboration was implemented with the support of Innovillage Program, a program where students were involved in social activities to solve various problems in community. Another collaboration was from the village officers who helped provide data for the base information to share with the public.
