Bandung – Lecturer from School of Communication and Business, Dr. Romat Saragih, MM. Succeeded in obtaining his doctorate in Management Science concentration in Strategic Management at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia on Wednesday (12/7). Romat holds a doctorate with a dissertation entitled “Dynamic Capabilities and Strategic Matches to Improve Business Performance (Study on Digital Creative Industry in Jakarta, Bandung, and beyond)”.

The focus of this research is business performance, where the analysis is descriptive and verifikatif with 96 samples, in the form of digital creative industry companies in Jakarta, Bandung and surrounding areas. Primary data was obtained by filling out questionnaires by senior corporate leaders. The verification analysis uses the aid of Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) based on Partial Least Square (PLS).

The results show that business performance is significantly influenced by strategic fit, where strategic fit is significantly influenced by dynamic ability and external environment changes. Furthermore, dynamic capability is influenced significantly also by internal resources and external environment changes. This research also produces a strategic management model called the Strategic Match Model.

According to him, his research aims to help the difficulties of the digital creative industry in achieving and / or improving business performance resulting from turbulent environmental changes.

“I want to focus more on the field of strategic management (as my research road map), especially the business strategy for Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) .I hope I can contribute to this nation through my knowledge”.

Romat expected that Telkom University can be better in facilitating the lecturers in research, mainly fund support needed.
