Tel-U and Bandung Regency Government, Socialize Applications to Prevent Stunting

Te-U dan Pemkab Bandung Sosialisasikan ACSBandung, Telkom University: To ensure that West Java children do not suffer from malnutrition, especially in the first 1000 days of life, there is a need for a system to be used by the community. In collaboration with Telkom University, the Bandung Regency Government implemented the Stunting Prevention Action (ACS) application in Alamendah Village, Rancabali District, Bandung Regency on Saturday (18/12/2021).

To tackle stunting in Indonesia, the government has targeted the Stunting Reduction Program to 14% by 2024. Meeting these targets is a big challenge for the government, especially in this pandemic. In addition, activities at the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) are still not optimal. Posyandu is the primary milestone in monitoring the growth and development of toddlers in a smaller area.

Telkom University carries out community service through the Ministry of Education and Culture program. We are introducing the Stunting Prevention Action (ACS) application for monitoring the development of child nutrition to reduce stunting, which was attended by 33 posyandu cadres and village midwives in Alamendah Village.

Representing the Head of Alamendah Village, Awan Rukmawan, Wendi said, “This application is one of the breakthroughs that the village has been waiting for, especially midwives in supervising the nutritional development of children; in the Alamendah Village area.” By collaborating with posyandu and PKK cadres, it is hoped that with this ACS application, there will be no delay in handling the condition of children experiencing malnutrition in Bandung Regency in general and especially Almendah Village in particular.

“After the implementation in Alamendah village, the data collection results regarding the evaluation of the usability aspect of the Stunting Prevention Action application showed a score of 82.84% included in the Good category. This shows that the application is relatively easy and efficient to use.” said the head of the Telkom University Lecturer team, Dr. Tien Fabrianti Kusumasari was met on a separate occasion on Wednesday (22/12/2021).

Alamendah Village was chosen as the initial place for implementing the stunting prevention action application to follow the collaboration between Telkom University and the Bandung Regency Government. As one of the guided villages of Telkom University, Alamendah Village has the opportunity to be a pioneer in implementing a program to prevent stunting. This activity also received positive appreciation from the Bandung Regency Government.
