Telkom University Establishes Collaboration with the Government of Musi Banyuasin Regency

Bandung, March 10, 2023 – Telkom University (Tel-U) collaborated with the Government of Musi Banyuasin Regency. The collaboration was officially legalized through the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by Vice Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation of Telkom University, Dr. Ir. Rina Pudji Astuti, M.T., and the regent of Musi Banyuasin, Drs. H. Apriadi, M.Si. The MoU signing was on Friday, March 10, 2023, at the Telkom University Landmark Tower (TULT) building, floor 16.

The agreement includes two things; the implementation of three pillars of higher education in supporting the development of Muba Smart Regency and the designing the roadmap of Electronic-Based Governance, the masterplan and roadmap of Smart City in Musi Banyuasin regency.

With the implementation of this collaboration, it is expected that the collaboration gives benefit to the government of Musi Banyuasin Regency and to the people of Indonesia, especially in digitalization, both the development of innovation in information technology and digital creative training.

During his speech, the regent of Musi Banyuasin, Apriadi said that he supports the attempt of continuous digitalization; therefore, it needs collaboration. In deciding collaboration, the board of government in Musi Banyuasin regency has decided that Telkom University is the most suitable collaborator for them.

As the regent said, “We are aware that we need an institution in learning and giving the up-to-date innovation. The IT sector is dynamic yet the recent technology has not been able to solve the future problem. Thus, we need to continuously transform the technology frequently.”

Vice Rector for Research, Innovation and Cooperation Affairs of Telkom University, Rina Pudji Astuti, gave an explanation about the ability of Telkom University in conducting research by using the Research and AI Center facilities they have, to acquire several innovations for community service.

Rina mentioned, “Apart from overseeing the digitalization of the human resource, we also need to oversee the small industries. Tel-U will fully support the collaboration for the sake of mutual benefit.”
