Telkom University Hosts the VSGA Program

BANDUNG, Telkom University – Telkom University (Tel-U) is trusted by the Ministry of Communication and Information (Kominfo) of the Republic of Indonesia to host the implementation of the Digital Talent Scholarship (DTS) program. The Digital Talent Scholarship program aims to improve skills and competitiveness, productivity, professionalism of human resources in the information and communication technology for Indonesia’s young workforce, the general public, and the country’s civil servants.

There are 8 (eight) academic programs in DTS 2021, namely:

Fresh Graduate Academy (FGA)

Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA)

Thematic Academy (TA)

Professional Academy (ProA)

Government Transformation Academy (GTA)

Digital Entrepreneurship Academy (DEA)

Digital Leadership Academy (DLA)

Talent Scouting Academy (TSA) Vocational School Graduate Academy Offline – Digital Talent Scholarship.

This year Telkom University has the opportunity to host the Vocational School Graduate Academy (VSGA) program, which takes place at the School of Applied Sciences (FIT).

At the opening ceremony of the VSGA program in Telkom University, on Monday (24/5), the Head of the Bandung Regency Information and Communication Research and Human Resources Development Center (BPSDMP Kominfo), Betty Djuliati, reported that approximately 120 participants join the VSGA training at Telkom. University from 24 May to 26 May 2021.

“Participants who take this training are graduates from SMK, D1 to D4, in the field of Information and Communication Technology (TIK), where later the participants will take part in a five-day training and receive an SKKNI-based competency certification by the Professional Certification Institute,” he explained.

Betty added, of the 120 participants who passed, 60 participants will take part in the Junior Network Administrator program scheme, and 60 other participants will take part in the Junior Web Developer program.

“Because we are still in a COVID-19 pandemic condition, we oblige all participants to undergo the COVID-19 antigen test procedure at the full expense of the committee, and ask to adhere to the Health protocol during the activity,” he said.

According to the Head of the Research and Development Agency for Human Resources, Kominfo, Dr. Harry Budiarto, The Digital Talent Scholarship Program in 2021 is designed to create a balanced ecosystem in maximizing the role of Penta helix (government, community/society, higher education institutions, the business world, and the media) to become facilitators and accelerators to support the digital economy.

“We hope that from this program we will be able to produce human resources who are competent and able to meet the needs of skilled workers in the technology sector in Indonesia,” he said.

Vice-Rector for Research, Innovation, and Cooperation at Telkom University, Dr. Rina Pudji Astuti expressed her gratitude to Kominfo for allowing Telkom University to be part of the implementation of the Kominfo program.

“Previously in 2019 we had the opportunity to be the place for the implementation of this DTS program, and this time we are again trusted to host and provide training to VSGA participants, we are ready to help Kominfo programs in the future in producing quality human resources in Indonesia. ” She said.
